Our Spa Review:

We enjoyed:

  • A relaxed atmosphere unique to Hawaii
  • The casual elegance of the ANARA SPA
  • The highest quality of spa facilities and staff
  • A wide variety of spa services
  • Delicious spa drinks and snacks available at the spa after an invigorating workout in paradise

Our Spa Experience:

Our ANARA SPA experience started with the morning fitness walk organized by the SPA. Our guide each morning was "ANI" , a fit and trim, energetic woman who was a delight and kept us entertained with local lore during our 2-3 mile walk. The fitness walk either takes you past a scenic local beach or along the nearby coastal golf course. Along the beach we observed wild life including sea turtles and monk seals. While walking the golf course we observed migrating humpback whales. We watched them breech and raise their misty spouts in the coolness of the morning.

After the walk, we had breakfast at the spa. Our favorite was the "Aunt Betty's Bagel" (seen above) adorned with cream cheese, honey, granola, macadamia nuts and bananas. We topped off our meal with a fresh fruit smoothie.

Before heading for the beach, we tried out one of the SPA fitness classes given by an experienced personal trainer. After class we were off to the beautiful lagoon by the ocean for fun in the sun. We laid lazily in the sun without guilt. Later that day I returned to the spa to indulge in a fantastic massage And facial. Both were fantastic because of the skilled staff at the ANARA SPA. I finished the spa day with a shower under the open Hawaiian sky- it was like a shower under your own private waterfall.

Hotel Review

Your Hyatt Regency Kauai experience begins with the breathtaking open lobby which allows the trade winds to race straight from the ocean to greet you. An open courtyard escorts you onto the lush, tropical grounds of the hotel. The magnificent ocean view is directly in front of you as you proceed to the beach. On your way, glistening pools surround you as you travel through this tropical paradise.

There are several pool areas separated by thick tropical foliage, forming small enclaves of sunbathers. This atmosphere can relax even the most stressed out mainlander. Our family especially enjoyed the man-made salt water lagoon, as we floated and released all of our cares away. For those with children, there is a water slide which kept the children (and many parents) amused for hours.

Our experience:

We spent most of our days (after spending time at the spa), lounging around one of the many pools or the lagoon near the water's edge. We enjoyed the pool side service, feasting on their tasty fried coconut shrimp and pina coladas. Several jacuzzi's are also hidden among the foliage for your bubbly pleasure.
For dinner, we dined at "The Tide Pool" restaurant and watched the nightly feeding of the numerous Koi. The fish came right up to the edge of the restaurant which is perched over the water. We dined at sunset, which is especially beautiful. The "lava flow" was our favorite Hawaiian drink served at the Tide Pool.
