We caught up with Angela Shields and her husband Darin, two outstanding athletes who qualified for this event and finished with a time of 5:34:07 & 4:24:53 respectively. They are two of the over thirteen hundred athletes who took part in this Ironman event. Like most of the athletes in this competition, they struggle to squeeze in training time while raising their family. Angela suggested there should be two classifications for women, the moms and the non-moms. Angela started out running marathons and then caught the triathlon bug and has been competing ever since. She plans to compete in a traditional Ironman next year.
