Craig Alexander, 33, from Australia took the men's division of the first ever Ironman World Championship 70.3 held in beautiful Clearwater, Florida. He finished the course in 3 hours, 45 minutes and 37 seconds. He was the victor over 5 time Ironman champion Simon Lessing. Alexander did the 1.2 mile swim in 24:08, the 56 mile bike ride in 2:05:34 and the 13.1 mile run in 1:12:43.
